Study to sit for your exam and get certified as an ALAT (Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician) or an LAT (Laboratory Animal Technician).

San Carlos - PMI hosted the recent workshop where students learned proper and humane methods of working with the laboratory mouse. Basic techniques includes restraint, dosing, sample collection, for example. Ten experienced and seasoned instructors were on site to ensure optimal instructor to student ratio. Proper methods equals less stressful mice and which leads to better research results. Mice are happier too!
For the past 18 months, Holly Turner ensured our fiscal solvency and kept NCB-AALAS in good financial shape. She spent many hours managing our associations balance sheets and federal/state tax responsibilities. Holly is stepping down and we thank her for her dedication and service to our community and wish her best of luck in her future pursuits. Per our By Laws, the Board of Directors appointed Lisa Grays without the need for a full general election and Lisa was appointed by an 8-2 vote Board vote. More...
